Near the sight of the Spring Place Moravian Mission & springs. Newly donated to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, this sight contains the burial ground of people believed to be Moravian Missionaries, who were sponsored by Chief James Vann to come to the area in 1801. Their mission was, among other things, to educate the Cherokees. That education included reading, grammar, writing, sacred history, mathematics, geography, weaving and botany. Several Cherokees and slaves are also thought to be buried at this sight. No admission. Open daylight until dark.
