If you prefer the great outdoors, then we have just what you ordered by way of Pigeon Mountain. This wildlife management area offers over 16,000 acres of outdoor adventure that includes hunting, fishing, camping, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, horseback riding and bicylce riding. It is also known for its numerous wild caves that are beneath Pigeon Mountain. Directions: From Chattanooga take US Hwy 27 south through LaFayette. Take Hwy 193 to right off Hwy 27 west of LaFayette. Go about 2.5 miles to Chamberlain Road. Turn left and go 3 miles to Rocky Lane. Watch for brown signs. Turn right on gravel road and go .5 mile to the check station.
