Red Clay Park

Red Clay Park Historic park encompassing 263 acres of narrow valleys and forested ridges. Area served as seat of the Cherokee government from 1832 until the time of Cherokee removal (Trail of Tears in 1838. Site features a "blue hole" spring, Eternal Flame of the Cherokee, cabin replicas and museum. Hiking and picnicking available. Open daylight hours.

Directions: GA Hwy 71 from Dalton/Varnell area north to Cohutta. Turn left on Wolfe Street. Go approximately 1 mile, then right on Red Clay Road. Park is approximately 3 miles.
