Downtown Dalton A planned community begun in 1847, Dalton is experiencing a revived downtown. Historic, specialty shopping and dining.

The city of Dalton, Georgia, began as Cross Plains more that 150 years ago. With the completion of the Western and Atlantic Railway, Dalton began a growth period that would last into the 20th century, first as an agricultural and shipping center, then as a industrial center.

Today the city features a large downtown area with wide streets and impressive shops that cater to a wide array of consumer tastes.

Directions: From I-75, exit 333, Walnut Ave east (Hwy 52 east) 2 miles, left on Thornton Ave 1 mile. Downtown on right.
