Chief Vann House The "Showplace of the Cherokee Nation," this 2-story classic brick federal-style mansion was built by Chief James Vann in 1804. Decorated with beautiful Cherokee hand carvings done in natural colors of blue, red, green & yellow, the home features a cantilevered stairway & many fine antiques.

The home was located on the Old Federal Highway running from Vann's Ferry on the Chattahoochee River to Ross's Landing, Cherokee Nation (now Chattanooga, Tennessee). The road ran in front of the home.

Come visit the museum to see how the Vann family lost the house. Open Tuesday-Sunday. Small admission fee charged.
